Givi PL726 Tubular Side-Case Holder Install: 2006 Triumph Sprint ST Terrible packing, hard to get off. Tight shrink wrapped plastic caused pieces to rub against each other during removal from packing material, chipping finish. * Numbers in [brackets] match the part numbers listed on the Givi instructions. * Pictures are found here: http://www.ozzy.net/jdscott/sprint/givi_install/ * Picture 1 shows the contents of kit PL726, picture 2 shows the bike before the install. 1. Remove three 5mm hex bolts holding the cover that protects the rear wiring (picture 3). 2. Unmount rear turn signals using 5mm hex key (bolt) and 10mm wrench (nut). 3. Remove turn signals from mount by disconnecting and pulling the two wires through the hole (picture 4). Green wire on bike side goes to white wire on turn signal side. Right turn signal wire harness has red tape on it from the factory. 4. Pry off plastic covers protecting bolt holes on rear grab bar. There are three covers on each side of the bar (pictures 5 & 6). Use a small flat head screw driver to loosen the covers by prying around them in a circular manner, then used needle nose pliers to twist the covers out. Don't pull them straight out, or the head will break off leaving the body of the plastic cover in the bolt hole. Once this happens drill the plastic cover out of the hole or twist it free with needle nose pliers. 5. Attach the two L shaped brackets [2] to each side of the grab bar using a 4mm hex key and six bolts [3] and washers [4] from the kit (three on each side - picture 7). 6. On both sides, loosely attach the main rails [1] to the motorcycle by first mounting the lower part of the rail to a bolt hole found behind the passenger foot peg guard, using a bolt [7] and washer [8] from the kit. It is the hole found behind the lower bolt on the guard (picture 8), and attaches with a 13mm wrench. Do not fully tighten the bolt at this time. 7. On both sides, loosely attach the top part of the mail rail to the L shaped bracket using 5mm hex key (bolt [5]) and washer [6] on the outer side and a 13mm wrench for the washer [8] and nut [13] on the inner side (picture 9). 8. Attach the stabilizing cross bar [10] to each rail at the lower back position with the bent part of the bar facing out toward the back of the motorcycle. The bar attaches on each side with a 4mm wrench (long bolt [9]) and a spacer [11] that will also be the right lower support for the side cases. 9. Thread the turn signals into place at the end of the rail where it comes to a point and you find two holes. Replace the original bolts and nuts (pictures 10 & 11). The wires will not reach the original location and will need to be lengthened (no extra length of wire is provided with the kit). Used weatherproof crimp connectors, 18 gauge wire, and shrink tubing to to protect the connections from water (pictures 12-13). Used flexible black wire loom to cover and protect the wires (pictures 14-15). 10. Test fit the cases to ensure satisfactory mounting position (pictures 16 & 17). 11. Tighten the bolts, using medium strength thread lock. * Pictures 18-22 show the bike with the cases installed. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Original Instructions: Givi PL726 Tubular Side-Case Holders * http://www.ozzy.net/jdscott/sprint/givi_install/givi-instructions.jpg 1.
